Job Description:
- Manages Associate Medical Directors, Medical Directors, Senior Medical Directors, and Executive Medical Directors.
- Leads Product Safety Teams (PST) and serves as PST Lead for one or more products, ensuring product safety throughout the lifecycle (surveillance, signal detection, validation, assessment).
- Interprets pharmacovigilance regulations to support all patient safety activities.
Responsibilities:
- Apply pharmacology, chemistry, and non-clinical toxicology to conduct safety surveillance.
- Oversee safety surveillance for pharmaceutical/biological/drug–device combined products.
- Lead strategy for key pharmacovigilance documents (medical safety assessments, regulatory responses, risk management plans).
- Apply current regulatory guidance for safety surveillance and authorship of PV documents.
- Analyze and interpret aggregate safety data and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
- Write, review, and contribute to technical documents; lead strategy for periodic reports (e.g., PSURs, PADERs).
- Oversee pharmacovigilance activities for clinical trials and post-marketing products.
- Implement risk management strategies for assigned products.
- Engage, coach, mentor team members and colleagues.
- Manage performance and talent development for other medical leaders.
- Coordinate and oversee product-level safety activities across indications/products; assess overall product safety strategy and oversee related approval activities.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO with 2+ years residency with patient management experience.
- 8–10 years of pharmacovigilance/clinical development experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Master Public Health preferred.
- Ability to analyze and guide clinical/epidemiological data; present recommendations internally/externally.
- Ability to write/review technical documents and lead cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English (written and oral).
- Ability to evaluate independently and make decisions under uncertainty; multitasking.
