Responsibilities:
- Drive execution of the annual Value & Implementation (V&I) plan with key medical affairs colleagues (focus on the U.S.), making strategic and agile decisions.
- Serve as SME/connector across therapeutic areas; translate global scientific platforms into actionable Medical Value Narratives; engage country stakeholders to align strategy and support local data generation, congress planning, and advisory boards.
- Represent Medical Affairs in Product Development sub-teams (Clinical, V&I, Commercial, Publications, Label) to guide strategic planning, outcome delivery, and execution; communicate with EDMA, RSL, RDMA, US DMA, and PASLs.
- Collaborate with Outcomes Research, Policy, Commercial, and Market Access to identify and address opportunities/barriers.
- Partner with Big Country Markets (U.S., China, Japan) to integrate country insights into global V&I plans; contextualize global strategy for local relevance.
- Consolidate medical insights from countries/regions; engage international scientific leaders and monitor external environment with competitive intelligence.
- Organize expert-input events (advisory boards/forums), global symposia/educational meetings; support local data-generation study concepts when requested.
- Review Investigator-Initiated Study proposals (ex-U.S.) pre-headquarters submission; serve on review panels for TA-specific Investigator Studies Programs.
- Manage patient support/educational/risk-management programs; champion Ways of Working.
- Manage assigned budget with strong financial stewardship (delivery within 3% variance).
Qualifications:
- MD, PhD, or PharmD (MD preferred) and recognized medical expertise.
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in country/region medical affairs or clinical development.
- Strong prioritization/decision-making; matrix collaboration; excellent written/oral communication and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- 3+ years regional medical affairs experience (e.g., Regional Director Medical Affairs) with proven impact on medical-affairs strategies.
- Scientific leadership/stakeholder expertise (payers, public groups, government officials, medical/professional organizations) in the therapeutic area.
