Position Summary
Reporting to the Global Medical Affairs Lead, responsible for internal and external scientific and clinical research initiatives under Medical Affairs, supporting HDV and PSC/PBC (liver portfolio). Helps develop strategy, tactics, KOL engagement plan, and disease state awareness activities for adult hepatology programs. Helps manage compassionate use and expanded use programs for HDV and PSC/PBC. Member of R&D providing scientific, clinical, and strategic feedback across cross-functional teams.

Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Collaborate across functional groups to support clinical trials and medical/scientific affairs research for adult hepatology.
- Support scientific and clinical communications for internal/external stakeholders, including advisory boards for adult liver disease indications.
- Leverage adult hepatology/gastroenterology expertise to support patient enrollment for adult liver clinical research studies with clinical study leads, CTLs, and VP of Clinical Development.
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop mitigation strategies using internal resources and external collaborations.
- Lead and collaborate on compassionate use and expanded access programs for Brelovitug and Volixibat.
- Oversee internal/external research activities including natural history studies, collaborative forums, real-world data registries, and data mining for publication.
- Leverage liver disease expertise to support Safety and Regulatory teams.
- Use analytical skills to discover data insights from clinical research, including literature research.
- Support strategic publication planning and development (conference abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts).

Qualifications
- Medical Doctor degree required.
- GI/Hepatology experience strongly preferred.
- 3+ years industry experience; preference for prior HDV, PSC, and/or PBC experience.
- Experience with scientific publications, congress activities, research forums, and scientific communications.
- Experience with data generation, natural history registries, and/or real-world registry building is a plus.

Skills/Abilities
- Clinical development and/or medical affairs and scientific research experience.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills; ability to obtain and incorporate feedback from internal/external collaborators.
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Ability to write scientific content, study literature, form opinions, and create strategy with stakeholder alignment.
- Rare disease, liver, or gastroenterology experience is a plus.
