Position Summary
- Provides strategic global Medical Affairs leadership for an oncology asset/portfolio.
- Sets and delivers long-term disease and medicine strategy; leads integrated global medical plans; shapes external clinical practice to improve patient and population health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as key medical business leader; accountable to Global Medical Lead for strategy and execution.
- Develop global disease/asset strategy; integrate scientific, clinical, and market insights to identify unmet needs and guide evidence priorities and narratives.
- Interface with senior internal leaders and external stakeholders (clinical experts, advocacy groups, regulators, payors) to shape disease understanding and treatment paradigms.
- Lead global medical operational planning across indications and geographies (externally-focused, insight-driven; on time and on budget).
- Partner to identify/prioritize evidence generation needs; develop scientific questions and shape Phase 3b/4 and value/evidence plans.
- Review/approve Phase 3b/4 and value evidence/health outcomes studies; review investigator-sponsored study proposals for strategic alignment.
- Align scientific narratives and publication strategy; define scientific messages and oversee omnichannel medical communications.
- Lead asset newsflow and build external expert networks; collaborate with LOC medical teams.
- Provide medical signatory/approval for promotional and non-promotional materials.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives (launch excellence, lifecycle optimization, indication expansion, access/reimbursement support).
- Inspire and mentor matrix team members.
Basic Qualifications
- MD/MBBS/PharmD or PhD in an oncology-relevant clinical/scientific discipline.
- 5+ years Medical Affairs experience (LOC/regional/global; pre-/peri-/post-launch leadership).
- Experience with regulatory and clinical development strategies across early/late oncology.
- Track record leading complex matrix initiatives; managing multiple projects/budgets; influencing senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced oncology/haematology clinical training/board certification.
- Global/above-country leadership experience.
- Strong English communication; ability to simplify complex science.
- Experience with RWE/HEOR and shaping access/reimbursement.
- Experience across multiple regions/major markets.
