Position Summary
The Global KOL Management Manager leads governance and execution of global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and external expert engagement across multiple therapeutic areas and/or species. Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure KOL activities are insight-driven, measurable, and aligned to the product lifecycle and corporate objectives.
Position Responsibilities
- Support build/co-own and refine a global KOL data repository in Salesforce (profiling, engagements, insights).
- Drive process improvements for faster planning, better insight capture, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Develop KOL AI profiling capabilities in Salesforce (scientific influence, clinical leadership, network centrality, publication/presentation impact, guideline participation, unmet-need alignment).
- Implement/enforce KOL engagement governance (SOP adherence, transparency readiness, contracting, documentation, audit trails).
- Create KOL profiles and engagement pathways (preferences, conflict-of-interest, engagement history).
- Partner with regions to validate prioritization/local relevance; ensure consistent taxonomy and data standards.
- Maintain global KOL strategy; develop annual KOL engagement plans (segmentation, objectives, channels, cadence, resourcing).
- Identify/prioritize scientific engagement opportunities (congresses, symposia, publications, advisory boards, permitted speaker programs, digital engagements).
- Create closed-loop KOL insights process (capture, synthesize, triage, route, track to completion).
- Define KPIs/dashboards and use analytics to optimize segmentation, engagement mix, and resource allocation.
- Serve as global point of contact for KOL management; enable regional/local owners; facilitate alignment across Global Medical, Commercial, Diagnostics, Marketing, R&D, and external communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred (DVM, PhD, or MSc) in relevant scientific discipline.
- 3β5+ years in Medical Affairs/scientific engagement or related life sciences roles.
- 3+ years in KOL/external expert management.
- Experience planning/executing compliant HCP/KOL engagements at country/regional/global scale.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance requirements (HCP interactions, transparency, FMV, contracts, privacy).
Preferred Qualifications
- Global or matrix experience across multiple geographies.
- Experience with KOL/CRM tools, stakeholder mapping, analytics-enabled measurement.
- Experience designing insight-to-action processes and governance.
