Role Summary:
Global Associate Director Medical Affairs (GADMA) supports Global Medical & Scientific Affairs execution for assigned Therapeutic Areas in alignment with Global Value & Implementation (V&I) Plans, focusing on the US while supporting Rest of World.
Responsibilities:
- Support execution of the annual V&I plan; partner as an empowered decision-maker.
- Partner with GDMA on global medical affairs team meetings and tactics.
- Ensure execution of agreed medical tactics; leverage best practices.
- With EDMA/GDMA direction, partner with Commercial, Outcomes Research, Policy, and Market Access to develop and execute V&I plans.
- Consolidate actionable medical insights from countries/regions.
- Organize global expert input events (advisory boards, expert forums), symposia, and educational meetings.
- Identify and communicate global/regional content and training needs.
- Engage international scientific leaders and stakeholders (guidelines, payers, public groups, government, medical societies); monitor external environment with competitive intelligence.
- Manage programs (patient support, educational, risk management) for safe appropriate use.
- Champion Ways of Working; prioritize innovation/medical modernization with patient impact.
- Manage assigned budget with financial stewardship.
- Participate in Investigator-Initiated Study proposal reviews (with EDMA/GDMA guidance).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MD/PhD/PharmD with recognized medical expertise.
- 2+ years pharmaceutical (or related) industry experience in medical affairs (affiliate arena).
- Strong prioritization/decision-making.
- Collaborate effectively in matrix environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written/oral communication, and project management.
Preferred:
- Scientific leadership and stakeholder engagement experience in the therapeutic area.
