Position Summary:
Flex MSL provides on-demand and proactive field medical support, including short-term KOL coverage, proactive scientific exchange, on-demand MSL support within a region, and medical project support.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions; respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries as needed.
- Deliver medical presentations to diverse audiences (physicians, pharmacists, nurses).
- Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage and maintain territory relationships for continuity.
- Deliver compliant medical education (1:1 or small group) on priority topics (disease state, MOA, safety/REMS).
- Maintain deep knowledge of scientific literature and emerging data in rare kidney disease.
- Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional/national congresses.
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours; follow medical/compliance guardrails.
- Contribute to planning/coordination/implementation of medical projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, NP); equivalent combination considered.
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech.
- Experience in nephrology or rare disease (strongly preferred: IgAN or FSGS).
- Experience supporting new product launches (plus).
- Experience with KOLs, medical congresses, and cross-functional matrix teams.
Skills/Additional Requirements:
- Strong scientific acumen; peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs.
- Excellent communication/presentation; strategic, collaborative, proactive; strong project management.
- Knowledge of FDA guidelines and PhRMA code; CRM proficiency (e.g., Veeva).
- Field-based; live in territory; travel 60–80% and some evenings/weekends.
