Position Summary:
Flex MSL provides on-demand and proactive field medical support, including short-term KOL coverage, proactive scientific exchange with community nephrologists/APPs, designated-region MSL territory support, and medical project support to advance understanding of rare kidney diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label non-promotional scientific discussions; respond to unsolicited requests and escalate complex inquiries as needed.
- Deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
- Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage based on organizational needs and maintain territory continuity.
- Deliver compliant medical education (1:1 or small group) on priority topics (disease state, MOA, safety/REMS); stay current on literature and emerging rare kidney disease data.
- Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional/national congresses.
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours and follow Medical/Compliance guardrails.
- Support planning and implementation of medical projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP) in relevant scientific discipline (equivalent experience considered).
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech.
- Strongly preferred: nephrology or rare disease experience (particularly IgAN or FSGS).
- Plus: experience supporting new product launches; KOLs, congresses, cross-functional matrix teams.
Skills/Experience:
- Strong scientific acumen; peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs.
- Excellent communication/presentation; compliant, balanced information synthesis.
- Strategic, collaborative, strong project management; manages multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of FDA/PhRMA/compliance standards; CRM (Veeva) and virtual engagement tools.
- Field-based; must live in territory; travel 60–80% and some evening/weekend work.
