Position Summary:
- Provide on-demand and proactive field medical support tailored to organizational needs, including temporary backfills/expanded engagement and coverage for an expanded group of KOLs.
- Deliver credible, fair-balanced, science-driven medical information to support appropriate clinical use of therapies and advance understanding of rare kidney diseases.
- Priorities: proactive scientific exchange with community nephrologists/APPs, on-demand territory support, and medical project support.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label non-promotional scientific discussions; respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries as needed.
- Present medical information effectively to physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
- Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage; maintain territory relationships and transition plan back to MSL.
- Deliver compliant medical education (1:1 or small group) on priority topics (disease state, MOA, safety/REMS).
- Maintain knowledge of scientific literature, treatment landscapes, and emerging rare kidney disease data.
- Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional/national congresses.
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours and follow medical/compliance guardrails.
- Contribute to planning/coordination/implementation of medical projects.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, NP) or equivalent combination.
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech.
- Strongly preferred: nephrology/rare disease experience (IgAN or FSGS).
- Plus: experience supporting new product launches; KOLs, congresses, cross-functional matrix teams.
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Deep scientific expertise; strong peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs.
- Excellent communication/presentation; ability to synthesize compliant balanced information.
- Strategic thinker; collaboration, project management, multi-priority management.
- Knowledge of FDA/PhRMA/code and compliance standards.
- CRM (e.g., Veeva), field reporting, virtual engagement tools.
- Field-based; live in territory; travel 60β80%.
