Position Summary:
Flex MSL provides on-demand/proactive field medical support, including short-term KOL coverage and expanded engagement; delivers credible, fair-balanced, science-driven medical information to support appropriate clinical use of therapies and advance understanding of rare kidney diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Non-promotional scientific exchange: on-label, fair-balanced discussions; respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries; deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
- Coverage & continuity: short-term KOL/institution/account coverage; maintain territory relationships and transition back to MSL.
- Education & support: compliant 1:1 or small-group medical education on priority topics (disease state, MOA, safety/REMS); maintain literature and emerging data knowledge.
- Congress support: provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional/national congresses.
- Insight generation: document HCP insights, medical trends, unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Documentation & compliance: record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours; follow medical/compliance guardrails.
- Project support: plan/coordinate/implement medical projects.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in relevant discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech; relevant clinical/academic experience considered.
- Strongly preferred: nephrology or rare disease experience (IgAN or FSGS).
- Plus: new product launch support; experience with KOLs, congresses, cross-functional matrix teams.
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong scientific acumen; peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs; excellent presentation/communication; compliant, balanced scientific synthesis.
- Strategic, collaborative, project management; proactive problem-solving; fast-paced adaptability.
- Knowledge of FDA/PhRMA and industry standards; CRM (Veeva), field reporting, virtual tools.
- Field-based; live in territory; travel 60β80%.
