Position Summary
Flex MSL provides on-demand and proactive field medical support, including backfilling temporary needs, expanding KOL coverage, and supporting rare kidney disease education and scientific exchange.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions (non-promotional); respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries to Medical Information.
- Deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
- Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage based on organizational needs; maintain territory relationships and transition back to MSL as needed.
- Deliver compliant 1:1 or small-group medical education on priority topics (disease state, MOA, safety/REMS); stay current on literature and emerging Rare Kidney Disease data.
- Support regional/national congresses with scientific presence and logistics.
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours and follow medical/compliance guardrails.
- Contribute to planning, coordination, and implementation of medical projects.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP) in relevant science; equivalent education/experience considered.
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech (clinical/academic experience may count).
- Nephrology or rare disease experience (strongly preferred: IgAN or FSGS).
- Plus: experience supporting new product launches; work with KOLs, congresses, and cross-functional matrix teams.
Additional Skills/Requirements
- Deep scientific expertise; strong peer-to-peer dialogue with KOLs.
- Excellent communication/presentation; ability to tailor content; compliant, balanced information synthesis.
- Strategic, collaborative, project management; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of FDA/PhRMA and industry standards; CRM (e.g., Veeva) and virtual tools.
- Field-based; must live in territory; travel up to 60β80%.
