Position Summary:
The Flex MSL provides on-demand and proactive field medical support, including KOL coverage and field medical project support. Delivers credible, fair-balanced, science-driven information to support appropriate clinical use of therapies and advance understanding of rare kidney diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions; respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries as needed; deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
- Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage based on organizational needs and maintain continuity in territory.
- Deliver compliant medical education (1:1 or small group) on priority topics (e.g., disease state, MOA, safety/REMS); stay current on literature and emerging rare kidney disease data.
- Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional/national congresses.
- Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.
- Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours and follow medical/compliance guardrails.
- Support planning, coordination, and implementation of medical projects.
Qualifications (Required/Preferred):
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP).
- 2+ years MSL experience in pharma/biotech.
- Strongly preferred: nephrology or rare disease experience (especially IgAN or FSGS); success supporting new product launches; experience with KOLs, congresses, and cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills/Requirements:
- Peer-to-peer scientific expertise; strong communication/presentation; ability to synthesize information compliantly.
- Strategic, collaborative, proactive problem-solver; manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of FDA/PhRMA compliance standards; CRM (Veeva) and virtual tools.
- Field-based; live in territory; travel up to 60β80%.
