Corporate Functions
Location: Ideal candidate resides within the Pacific Time Zone.
Major Duties / Responsibilities
- Work with department leads to produce budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and general support; maintain the financial forecasting system; manage the purchase order process.
- Assist Accounting with close activities and audit requests.
Budgeting
- Support multiple department leads to produce budgets, regular forecast updates, and variance analyses.
- Troubleshoot issues for Operating Departments and Accounting.
- Coordinate budgeted new hires and placement with HR.
- Perform payroll budgeting and forecasting for all departments.
- Track unbudgeted items between Budget/Forecast periods.
- Support accounting in close and audit activities.
- Maintain oversight of departmental operating expenses.
Financial Systems Maintenance
- Ensure NetSuite Planning and Budgeting (NSPB) functions as expected; liaise with internal/external support to address issues.
- Ensure upgrades are tested and work appropriately.
- Train staff on NSPB as needed.
- Create and maintain user instructions for NSPB.
Purchase Order Management And Invoice Support
- Oversee processing of purchase orders, ensuring proper accounting and contract approval.
- Follow up on incomplete requisitions/contracts.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance regarding processing of new vendors.
- Address billing disputes with vendors with operating groups until resolved.
Special Projects
- Execute special projects as assigned in a timely manner.
- Expand knowledge of financial statement forecasting and revenue forecasting.
Supervisory Duties
- Manage one Sr. Financial Analyst.
Required Education And Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5–8 years Accounting and/or Finance experience.
- Experience with financial forecasting software (preferably Oracle PBCS or NetSuite NSPB).
Preferred Education And Experience
- MBA or CPA (plus).
- Biotech or pharma experience (plus).
- Highly advanced oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and finance liaisons in operating divisions.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
- Prior supervisory experience (plus).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time; Monday–Friday, approx. 8:30 AM–5 PM; occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
Work Environment
- Professional, virtual/remote work (usually from home).
Travel
- Infrequent travel; minimal travel up to 5%.
Compensation
- Salary range: $130,000–$155,000 per year (higher may be available). Includes competitive base salary, annual bonus target, and robust benefits package.
