Role Summary:
The Immunology Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) is a field-based, specialized in-office resource for healthcare providers (HCPs) within a designated territory. The FRM addresses patient access and reimbursement inquiries related to AbbVie’s immunology portfolio, including coverage/reimbursement challenges, utilization/payer processes, and educating on prescription status and program eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs (including bio coordinators and/or office staff) on AbbVie patient support programs, access and reimbursement tools/services.
- Educate on product acquisition options (specialty pharmacy networks, specialty distribution, and bagging options).
- Provide resources/strategies to address patient access issues.
- Deliver localized expertise on national/regional payer policies and utilization management criteria, including medical billing/coding updates and claims submission methodology.
- Coordinate with the Access and Reimbursement Support Center to relay prescription status and program eligibility updates.
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and Market Access teams.
- Establish and maintain provider relationships in the assigned territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of managed care, reimbursement, and policy trends.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in immunology, or access and reimbursement experience with market access/payer account management expertise.
- Expertise in specialty biologics acquisition/dispensing (e.g., Buy and Bill, reimbursement analysis, Specialty Pharmacies/Distributors).
- Strong territory and strategic account management; process mastery; customer engagement; strategic mindset.
- Proven leadership in current role.
- Functional knowledge of access and reimbursement support service centers.
- Excellent communication (oral/written/presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate coding/billing technical elements across care settings and Medicare (Parts A, B, C, D).
- Knowledge of rules/regulations/risks for reimbursement support services.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; drive personal or company vehicle (or powered handling equipment).
