Role Summary

Field Medical Director, Oncology, Malignant Hematology, Mid-Atlantic (non-MD) β€šΓ„Γ¬ Remote - Field Based. Provides therapeutic area expertise in malignant hematology across Medical customer segments in the DE, MD, DC, VA region and leads medical strategy and engagement with appropriate customers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the territory, coordinating with Pfizer colleagues to achieve Medical objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of malignant hematology disease states and Pfizer medicines; provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a conduit for Medical Information and customer insights; share customer viewpoints with Pfizer as appropriate.
  • Contribute to Medical content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Field Medical colleagues.
  • Deliver effective communication across multiple channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communications, and conversations.
  • Optimize patient centricity of Medical communications and deliverables, incorporating health literacy and cultural awareness.
  • Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated TA.
  • Identify and engage priority customer segments in malignant hematology.
  • Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to direct unsolicited medical requests from HCPs, in compliance with Pfizer guidelines.
  • Lead advisory boards with manager oversight and handle inbound queries from HCPs via triage processes.
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs to identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving underrepresented populations.
  • Provide Medical support throughout Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR).
  • Cultivate research and TA expertise; stay current with congress data and literature.
  • Provide asset leadership and communicate study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation concepts to customers.
  • Demonstrate strong territory leadership; engage with Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.
  • Deliver insights on local patient organization structure and needs; serve on cross-functional committees as appropriate.
  • Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with clinical/professional associations and societies; demonstrate professionalism.
  • Mentorship β€šΓ„Γ¬ onboarding partner, ad board and study lead mentor; participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must-Have: BA/BS with 8+ years in health sciences; or MBA/MS with 7+ years; or PharmD/PhD or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must reside within the territory (DE, MD, DC, VA); no relocation assistance.
  • Leadership with ability to influence and collaborate; excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage substantial remote project load with prioritization and judgment; work in a matrixed team; adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes; self-starter with urgency and accountability.
  • Clinical and technical skills; rapid adoption of digital tools for medical interactions.
  • Ability to operate a Pfizer company car and travel 60-80% of the time; valid US driverβ€šΓ„Γ΄s license with clean driving record.

Nice-to-Have

  • PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree highly preferred.
  • Malignant hematology experience in multiple myeloma and/or lymphoma strongly preferred.
  • Field-based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Education

  • Pharmacist or physician-level degree or equivalent terminal doctoral degree as noted in qualifications.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical/Mental Requirements: Ability to operate a company car and travel as required.
  • Non-standard Work Schedule/Travel: Flexible to travel 60-80% of time; proximity to airline hub city; occasional weekend work for advisory boards or congress meetings.
