External Manufacturing Product Team Lead (EMPT)

Main Responsibilities
- Accountable for on-time and in-full product delivery for CMOs/External Suppliers; track EST KPIs and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance across Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery.
- Develop and maintain a positive, psychologically safe culture for highly productive teams.
- Manage products/CMOs operationally and financially; oversee activities against contract guidelines (MSA & QTA) and provide routine technical support.
- Build and facilitate relationships with external partners/suppliers (CMO, CLO, Material Suppliers) and internal partners (GSC, MSAT, Legal).
- First-level negotiation on financial liability for failed or rejected lots in collaboration with procurement.
- Plan and implement life cycle management projects, including resource and financial planning.
- Execute CMO Management processes: ensure governance meetings occur, decisions/actions are documented, and correct attendees participate; facilitate internal alignment.
- Represent EMPT in Industrial Product Teams and Technical Product Team.
- Adhere to the Risk Management Program; identify/evaluate/document/communicate risks impacting quality, compliance and supply; participate in teams to define remediation plans for products and GxP operations.
- Partner with Supply Chain to monitor CMO inventories and provide proactive remediation.
- Ensure compliance via participation in quality governance forums; deliver Quality System records on time.
- Maintain deep knowledge of CMOs’ product processes; identify SMEs and ensure process changes are vetted for acceptability and impact.
- Execute CMO projects with CMO organizations and EM&S business partners.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations/Manufacturing Management or related) + 10+ years experience OR Master’s degree + 8+ years.
- Operational experience required; ideally as product or functional team manager.
- Understanding of data management and IA digital products.
- Experience with end-to-end product & industrial strategy.
- Strong analytical skills with budgeting/forecasting exposure.
- Ability to set/monitor KPIs and manage performance.

Preferred Qualifications
- Drug substance operations experience (strongly preferred).
- Project/program management experience (extremely helpful).
- Working knowledge of biotech/pharmaceutical industry (highly preferred).
