Position Summary
The Neuroscience Sales Specialist achieves sales goals in an assigned territory by building customer relationships, delivering compliant product education, and driving appropriate patient access.
Primary Responsibilities
- Promote Acadia products to HCPs in person and virtually with clinical, disease state, and reimbursement information.
- Develop and execute a territory business plan to meet/exceed sales objectives using market data and quarterly action plans.
- Build relationships with HCPs, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Handle objections and questions using advanced selling skills.
- Tailor approved sales aids/clinical reprints/brand resources to customer needs.
- Partner with internal teams (managed markets, operations, sales training, marketing) to deliver coordinated solutions.
- Advise on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution; liaison for access-related issues.
- Track/report sales activities, expenses, and customer interactions.
- Represent Acadia at conferences/trainings and participate in meetings as required.
- Mentor/train new sales specialists and contribute to cross-functional projects.
Qualifications & Required/Preferred Skills
- Bachelorโs required (life sciences preferred).
- Sales Specialist: 3+ years sales with 1+ year pharma/related healthcare sales (neuroscience preferred).
- Sr./Executive levels require 8+ /12+ years healthcare sales with 2+ /3+ years complex/account-based selling.
- Advanced selling, leadership, business acumen; proven influence with diverse HCP audiences.
- Strong communication/negotiation; independent, adaptable, results-driven.
- Reside in territory (or within 30 miles); valid driverโs license; travel up to ~80% with overnight stays.
- Proficiency: Microsoft Office and virtual platforms (Zoom/WebEx); payer knowledge incl. Part D and specialty pharmacy/hub distribution.
