Executive Director, Medical Team Leader (Cardiovascular Pipeline and Prevention)

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute US Medical CV pipeline and CV prevention strategies.
- Ensure delivery of development activities across all compounds in the relevant disease area(s) with accountability for cost, time, and quality.
- Ensure effective team dynamics, performance, prioritization, and communication across the multidisciplinary team.
- Serve as key point of contact with US Medical Affairs Leadership and Global teams; maintain effective relationships with cross-functional and Global Line Function counterparts.
- Establish strategic plan activities and timelines for US Medical Affairs CV pipeline and CV prevention initiatives.
- Partner with external experts in disease area(s) to gain insights, inform strategic plans, and serve as primary contact describing strategy to external stakeholders.
- Identify issues/bottlenecks; propose solutions for CMO/Head review; lead risk assessment, contingency planning, and challenge program timelines/resource needs.
- Lead analysis of present/future disease projections and competitive intelligence.
- Drive/coordinate development of strategy documents, risk log, and phase transition tollgates.
- Support VP/Head, Medical Therapeutic Area with governance board program recommendations/updates.
Essential Requirements:
- MD, PhD, PharmD, Masterβs/Doctoral in life sciences/chemistry, or BS plus MBA required.
- 10+ years industry experience; 4+ years Cardiovascular therapeutic area required (5+ years multi-/cross-functional leadership preferred).
- Proven success leading large-scale, complex multidisciplinary drug development teams.
- Expert knowledge of early- and late-stage drug development.
- Advanced program management and team facilitation skills.
- Strong leadership presence; strategic decision-making, scenario evaluation, and contingency planning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Champion AI fluency as a foundational skill.
