What You Will Achieve
- Lead and manage people, technology, and financial resources within the department in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and environmental and safety regulations.
- Share knowledge; identify process/product improvements and develop innovative ideas.
- Solve moderately complex problems within expertise and assist with issues outside the department.
- Oversee operational activities to support short-term goals; manage multiple cross-functional projects.
- Identify development needs; create development plans; set goals, coach, and assess direct reports.
- Solicit input and communicate complex concepts; persuade others and share rationale.
- Support programs and systems with procedures and training to ensure compliance (SOPs, cGMP, safety, quality, OSHA, and other standards).
- Develop strategies/methods to improve maintenance processes and procedures; enhance equipment performance and evaluate equipment for new/replacement needs.
- Facilitate equipment-based Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA); govern maintenance planning/scheduling; foster teamwork and colleague development; provide change management recommendations.
- Use machining and fabrication methods/tools to conceptualize unique repair solutions; interpret complex drawings.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize risk, ensure product quality, and reduce waste.
- Ensure adequate communication with key stakeholder groups.
- Champion safety culture: establish safety rules/instructions, report events to EH&S, and mitigate risk.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- BA/BS (4+ years) or MBA/MS (2+ years) or PhD/JD (any) or Associateโs (8+ years) or High School Diploma/equivalent (10+ years).
- Proficiency in Enterprise Asset Management Solutions or other CMMS applications.
- Thorough knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Strong people management experience.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Bonus Points (Preferred Requirements)
- Masterโs degree with relevant pharmaceutical experience.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance program experience.
- Equipment-based RCFA experience.
- Process Safety Management (PSM) knowledge.
- Ability to develop/establish strategies to improve preventive maintenance processes.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) and familiarity with responsible AI practices.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Stand upright for several consecutive hours; frequently stand/walk to supervise operations.
- Occasional bending/stooping/squatting and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Close/color vision and ability to adjust/focus.
- Works near moving machines; exposed to temperature changes; required to wear PPE.
Work Environment
- Office/plant/Maintenance shop; loud noise; airborne particles; near moving mechanical parts; PPE required.
- Occasional travel; infrequent work outside normal hours for shutdowns/interruptions.
