Summary:
The Early Intervention Account Manager (EIAM) positions and sells Zilretta solutions to Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, and Primary Care offices. Provides pharmacological and technical product knowledge and sells Zilretta’s value proposition. Collaborates with the Regional Business Director to develop a business plan that exceeds defined sales revenues for the territory.
Responsibilities:
- Identify target markets and exceed corporate revenue objectives within assigned geography.
- Collaborate with surgeons, sports medicine physicians, primary care providers, PAs, NPs, healthcare providers, and pharmacy to drive Zilretta adoption for knee pain.
- Educate reimbursement strategies per compliance guidelines.
- Recruit customers to incorporate Surgeon Selector into their practice.
- Use CRM for account planning, forecasting, and data analysis; document sales account information.
- Develop and maintain expertise of Zilretta and knowledge of account conversion processes.
- Execute sales, retention, and value proposition strategies (engaging C-suite) to ensure long-term access to Zilretta.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings to close business and minimize obstacles; manage territory with office visits.
- Manage expense budgets.
- Stay current on clinical data and present/interprete it for healthcare professionals.
- Partner with EXPAREL Account Managers for synergistic opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 3+ years direct selling experience to healthcare professional offices in pharma/biotech/device/health care (required).
- Excellent written/oral English and strong presentation skills.
- Ability to complete hospital credentialing timely to gain facility access.
- Proven account-based selling experience supporting orthopedic practices (strongly preferred).
- Strong reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, and buy-and-bill knowledge (strongly preferred).
- Prior orthopedic/HA or related experience (strongly preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical skills; ability to identify decision-makers and navigate practice dynamics.
- Highly desirable: existing network and demonstrated process engaging clinical customers.
- Independently motivated; strong sales discipline (goal setting, prospecting, networking, territory/time management).
- Proficiency with MS Office, mobile tech, and web-based applications.
- Demonstrated working relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and hospital pharmacy.
- Travel extensively; valid driver’s license; reliable transportation; must live in designated territory.
