Key responsibilities for this role include:
- The Midwest district includes key markets in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.
- Develop, enhance and increase district sales performance to meet or exceed annual Company sales and market share objectives; implement the district sales strategy/business plan through the team.
- Develop and maintain solid customer relationships with key executives and decision makers; respond to customer needs in a timely/professional manner; conduct account reviews for key customers; monitor product usage and purchasing patterns; update contract information as required.
- Provide regular, candid and timely feedback to district sales representatives; identify performance challenges and create plans to address performance gaps; work with Sales Director and HR on disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Analyze and evaluate team performance using sales figures and territory data; track and reinforce sales force effectiveness (e.g., reach/frequency, adherence to strategy, tactical implementation, proper use of funds/systems/tools).
- Recruit and retain top talent; coach, counsel, and develop direct reports to maximize performance and accountability.
- Perform all business in compliance with applicable Company policies and procedures; demonstrate high ethical and professional standards.
- Communicate with Sales Director and direct reports; promote an open communication environment; share “Best Practices” across the district; liaison with home office/district to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Assess organizational change management needs and apply appropriate tools to manage change impact.
- Create a high-performing team environment focused on professional development, accountability, and immediate results with a strategic long-term view.
- Exercise fiscal control on allocated operating budgets; cascade direction from Regional Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years pharmaceutical or healthcare product sales management experience (combination of experience/education considered).
- Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and management skills.
- Prior successful pharmaceutical/healthcare sales management District Manager experience (medical devices or other healthcare products sales experience preferred).
- Ability to travel 60–70% (including overnight travel).
- Must reside in district geography.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.
- Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English.
Compensation:
- Salary range: $148,000 - $222,000 (exact compensation varies by skills, experience, and location).
