Key responsibilities:
- The East Coast district includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
- Develop, enhance, and increase district sales performance to meet/exceed annual Company sales and market share objectives; execute corporate sales/marketing direction; implement the district sales strategy/business plan through the team.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships with key executives, decision influencers, and decision makers; respond to customer needs timely; conduct account reviews for key customers; monitor product usage and purchasing patterns; update contract information as required.
- Provide regular, candid, and timely feedback to district sales representatives; identify performance challenges early and create plans to address gaps; work with Sales Director and HR on disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Analyze/evaluate team performance, sales figures, and territory data; track and reinforce sales force effectiveness (reach/frequency, strategy adherence, tactical implementation, proper use of funds, systems, and tools).
- Recruit and retain top talent; coach/counsel direct reports to motivate high performance, accountability, and professional development.
- Perform Company business in compliance with applicable Company policies/procedures and ensure sales representatives comply; demonstrate high ethical/professional standards.
- Communicate with Sales Director and direct reports; foster open communication; share “Best Practices” across the district; serve as liaison with home office/district to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Assess organizational change management needs and apply appropriate tools to manage change impact.
- Create a high-performing team environment emphasizing professional development and accountability; eliminate barriers; drive both long-term strategy and immediate results.
- Exercise fiscal control on allocated operating budgets; cascade and follow Regional Director direction (marketing, standards, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years pharmaceutical or healthcare product sales management experience (combination of experience/education considered).
- Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and management skills.
- Preferred: prior successful pharmaceutical/healthcare sales management District Manager experience; medical devices or other healthcare product sales experience.
- Ability to travel 60–70% (including overnight travel).
- Must reside in district geography.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.
- Proficiency speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English.
