Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop, enhance, and increase district sales performance to meet/exceed annual sales and market share objectives; execute corporate sales/marketing direction within the geography and implement the district sales strategy through the team.
- Build and maintain solid customer relationships with key executives and decision makers; respond timely and professionally; conduct account reviews; monitor product usage and purchasing patterns; update contract information.
- Provide regular, candid feedback to district sales representatives; identify performance challenges early; create plans to address gaps; partner with Sales Director and HR on disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Analyze team/sales performance and territory data; track and reinforce sales force effectiveness (e.g., reach/frequency, adherence to strategy, tactical implementation, proper use of funds/systems/tools).
- Recruit and retain top talent; coach, counsel, and develop direct reports to maximize performance and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies/procedures and uphold high ethical/professional standards.
- Communicate with Sales Director and direct reports; support open communication; share best practices across the district; serve as liaison with home office to identify and resolve issues.
- Assess organizational change management needs and apply tools to manage change impact.
- Create a high-performing team environment focused on development and accountability; drive immediate results with strategic business perspective.
- Exercise fiscal control on allocated operating budgets.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree and 3+ years pharmaceutical or healthcare product sales management experience (or combination of experience/education).
- Demonstrated leadership, motivational, and management skills.
- Prior District Manager experience in pharma/healthcare sales (medical devices or other healthcare products preferred).
- Ability to travel 60β70% (overnight travel included).
- Must reside in district geography.
- Valid Driverβs License with acceptable driving record; authorization to drive company leased vehicle or authorized rental.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension).
Salary range: $148,000β$222,000.
