This role is field-based and will require travel throughout the Atlantic Coast District Territory. Candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Richmond, VA, Washington DC, or Baltimore, MD.

The District Manager, Eye Care Surgical (Xen) is responsible for leading a team to promote AbbVie’s Xen Gel stent within the refractory glaucoma market. Oversees district sales results, interviewing, selection, and development of Account Consultants, and district customer-facing activities to develop and maintain relationships with strict adherence to compliance principles.

Responsibilities:
- Consistently attain growth and market share goals while managing expenses within guidelines.
- Provide leadership and direction: recruiting, hiring, training, development, and performance management.
- Coach and counsel to develop innovative selling and account management skills.
- Oversee development and succession planning.
- Lead sales execution across the region; execute marketing plans and provide feedback for plan implementation.
- Proactively manage physician/practice/account relationships; implement account management plans and optimize resources.
- Develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
- Lead and motivate others to achieve district goals.
- Lead needs-based account selling and KOL promotional/key account management.
- Support sales and meet or exceed district business goals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; MBA preferred.
- 5–7 years minimum healthcare, buy and bill, or device sales experience; sales leadership experience.
- Business analysis and planning skills.
- Excellent judgment/decision-making; influence without authority.
- Ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments/therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to give effective feedback and manage performance; develop talent.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Travel minimum 75% and attend overnight training/sales meetings.
- Ability to drive a personal or company vehicle and/or powered equipment.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain facility entry.
