District Manager, Eye Care Surgical (Xen)

Role Overview (field-based)
- Lead a team to promote AbbVie’s Xen Gel stent within the refractory glaucoma market.
- Oversee district sales results and manage interviewing, selection, and development of Account Consultants.
- Manage district customer-facing activities to develop and maintain relationships with strict adherence to compliance principles for the success of the US Interventional Glaucoma franchise.

Responsibilities
- Consistently attain district growth and market share goals while managing operations within expense guidelines.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage performance for the assigned district; provide coaching and counseling across the team.
- Oversee development and succession planning.
- Lead field execution of sales direction and marketing plan implementation; be an area expert in product strategy and supporting initiatives.
- Proactively identify, develop, and manage relationships with physicians, practices, and/or accounts; implement account management plans and optimize resource allocation.
- Develop and implement improved district procedures and practices to achieve objectives.
- Lead and motivate others to achieve district goals.
- Lead needs-based account selling and KOL promotional programs; support sales to meet or exceed business goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; MBA preferred.
- 5–7+ years of healthcare, buy and bill, or device sales experience; sales leadership experience.
- Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments/therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to provide effective feedback and manage performance; develop talent.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Travel minimum 75%; overnight attendance at training and sales meetings.
- Ability to drive personal or company vehicle/equipment.
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities/organizations (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
