The District Business Manager (DBM), Dermatology will report to the Regional Director, Dermatology, and be responsible for hiring, leading, developing and retaining Dermatology Sales Representatives in their assigned district. Ensure strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds forecast and expectations relating to product goals, with accountability for district results in an ethical manner and in accordance with applicable compliance policies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and measure strategic business plans to meet sales objectives per company and regulatory standards.
- Meet or exceed district sales goals for designated products/portfolio through direct management of sales representatives; provide regular performance updates to sales directors.
- Participate in face-to-face customer sales calls with sales representatives (about 4 days/week).
- Plan and execute district sales meetings; conduct performance evaluations; participate in company-sponsored events/meetings.
- Recruit, select, and train sales representatives; support coaching/metric review.
- Lead, coach, and provide career development plans.
- Analyze sales data/trends; formulate strategies to create product demand and sales revenue.
- Monitor competitor activity/products; provide progress updates and respond to district business information requests.
- Identify marketplace opportunities and share best practices across the organization.
- Develop positive team norms; further functional skill sets.
- Monitor and control district expenditures to meet budget.
- Serve as liaison between district, field sales management, and departments (HR, Marketing, Finance).
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key HCPs.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelorโs degree (Masterโs or advanced education/certifications a plus; science/clinical focus preferred).
- 7+ years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience, including 3 years sales leadership/management; dermatology market experience strongly preferred.
- Proven record hiring/coaching/developing/retaining/promoting top talent; ability to lead team performance.
- Integrity and success as a District Sales Manager in complex markets.
- Strong understanding of payer environment, reimbursement, and challenges.
- Proven physician/key customer relationship development.
- Ability to partner/collaborate with internal departments.
- Extensive travel; regular overnight travel may be required.
