Role Summary

The District Business Manager is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The primary role is to lead, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 6-10 TASs to drive adoption of the Cardiovascular portfolio and generate demand. The DBM coaches TASs on learning objectives (selling skills, scientific engagement, digital capabilities) and ensures continuous improvement in core skills. The DBM also leads business and account planning and champions the use of new digital capabilities and tools such as Medical on Call and CE^3. The DBM is field-based and spends 100% of time in the field with TASs, depending on geography. The role covers all Cardiovascular portfolio and is aligned to accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Focused in-role coaching and development of TASs, coaching on competencies and learning objectives; conduct ride-alongs with TASs for key HCPs as relevant; own TASs learning journey and drive continuous improvement in core skills and behavior.
  • Champion adoption of new capabilities (e.g., CE^3 analytics, content personalization); model and coach usage of new tools; facilitate field team collaboration, feedback collection, and adoption of new ways of working.
  • Execute strategic planning activities (promo program planning, budget planning, tumor prioritization at the HCP level); prioritize accounts and develop strategies for key accounts; lead district financial and program planning.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience or related field.
  • Prior experience as a District Business Manager in Pharmaceutical Sales or in leading and managing high-performing teams is strongly preferred.
  • Pharma experience with understanding of reimbursement processes, access, and distribution environment strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of inspiring and leading teams to meet or exceed goals; proven success in selecting, developing, and retaining talent; experience with analytical skills, selling skills, and pharmaceutical value chain.
  • Requires operation of a Company-provided vehicle; candidates must meet Qualified Driver requirements (age 21+, valid driver's license, acceptable driving risk level).

Additional Requirements

  • Field-based role requiring travel; must be able to travel as needed to visit customers and attend meetings.
