Associate Director Trade and Distribution Strategy (Pain Portfolio)
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead tactical execution of distribution design planning to develop scalable strategies balancing financial impact and patient/customer experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and align on distribution/channel strategy; maximize patient access and achieve corporate goals.
- Partner with Trade & Distribution account team and functional partners to understand distribution capabilities, market expertise, and differentiation.
- Build business cases and recommendations for channel design (limited vs. open network) and strategic alliances (e.g., 3PLs, specialty pharmacy, wholesalers, specialty distributors, channel data aggregators).
- Define evolution of distribution programs for new launches, risk mitigation, market/competitive changes, and regulatory/legislative changes.
- Maintain deep understanding of the distribution channel, including pharmacy/hospital capabilities and competitive landscape.
- Ensure activities support integrity and compliance with company policies.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of drug distribution channels, including retail and digital pharmacy.
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding goals; ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives/projects.
- Experience with distribution networks, new product launches, trade processes, and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Understanding of US commercial/government healthcare and reimbursement (product/fund flow, patient support, government programs).
- Strong communication, cross-functional influence without authority, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree (relevant field); masterβs preferred.
- 5+ years in Commercial Market Access and/or Retail Trade & Distribution (biotech/specialty).
- Experience with GPOs and IDN classes of trade.
Location/Travel:
- HQ or hybrid (3 days/week in HQ).
- Travel up to 20%.
