Medical Affairs
Objective:
- Serve as Director in US Medical Affairs, reporting to the Vice President; drive tactical medical accountability for one or more products, supporting development and updates of product-specific medical strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a product/franchise at the global level; represent USMA on internal committees.
- Oversee execution of medical strategies with Medical Unit and partner with PM to track progress and provide periodic reports.
- Co-develop/coordinate near-term strategic medical direction; update product medical strategies aligned with commercial brand strategy and global product teams.
- Support long-term lifecycle management tactics (e.g., HEOR).
- Generate and communicate medical/scientific insights (e.g., from advisory boards, field medical) and update medical landscape/strategy.
- Support ad board strategy; support external engagement (ad boards, professional meetings) and manage KOL interactions.
- Partner on execution/content creation and support medical review of relevant materials.
- Leadership behaviors: strategic enterprise thinking, inspire teams, deliver results, elevate organizational capabilities, communicate/influence cross-functionally.
Qualifications (Required):
- Advanced Doctoral Degree (MD/DO/PhD/PharmD or equivalent) plus at least 4 years pharmaceutical industry experience and/or clinical/research/academic work.
- Minimum 2 years in clinical research and publication activities, congress presentations, and public speaking.
Certifications:
- Maintain minimum standards of education/certification in professional discipline.
Travel:
- Periodic travel up to 30%.
