Key Responsibilities
- Serve as R&D business lead for external expert engagements (consultants, advisory board/steering/executive committee members, scientific advisors).
- Own end-to-end external engagement process: scope, contracting, fair market value alignment, deliverables documentation, and payment oversight (with Legal/Compliance/Finance).
- Manage one-time and longitudinal consultant relationships with compliant documentation.
- Coordinate consultant group meetings (virtual/in-person): charter, agendas, materials review, and documentation of insights/outcomes.
- Maintain visibility into expert roles across R&D to ensure coordinated engagement and role clarity.
- Capture, document, and communicate expert input to internal stakeholders in compliance with regulatory/company requirements.

Scientific Conferences & Professional Society Engagement
- Lead strategic planning and execution of R&D participation in scientific congresses and society meetings.
- Define objectives per meeting and develop attendance plans.
- Partner cross-functionally to align external presence and messaging.
- Execute structured debrief/โ€œbring-backโ€ processes to convert insights into development strategy implications.
- Oversee budgets and ensure alignment with internal publications strategy.

Compliance & Quality Oversight
- Ensure activities follow SOPs, industry codes, and regulatory requirements; partner with Legal/Compliance.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation of consultant activities, outputs, and financial transactions.

Cross-Functional Operations Leadership
- Support broader R&D operational initiatives; collaborate with key functions; support operating planning, budgeting/forecasting, resource allocation, and operational readiness.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree (scientific or relevant business); MS/MBA/PhD/MD a plus.
- 12+ years in pharma/biotech operations, clinical development, or related.
- Experience managing complex operational processes and cross-functional initiatives in matrix environments.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.
- Strong business acumen; excellent communication/presentation.
- Proficiency in data analysis/metrics; advanced PowerPoint/Excel/BI tools.

Preferred Experience
- Scientific meeting strategy/congress planning; clinical development/regulatory familiarity.
- Prior expert-consultant advisory board/steering committee exposure.
- Project management or management consulting.
