Role Summary
Director, R&D Data Science, Data Products β Neuroscience. Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of user-centric data products enabling advanced analytics, data science, and AI/ML solutions across the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area. Ensure high-value neuroscience data assets are standardized, productized, and integrated into the enterprise R&D data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Data Product Strategy & Execution
- Lead a team to develop technical requirements for Neuroscience-facing data products
- Define and maintain a roadmap for Neuroscience data products across discovery to real-world evidence
- Develop data products through agile delivery and FAIR data principles to ensure scalability, interoperability, and reusability
- Deliver integration of internal and external Neuroscience data sources
- Ontology & Semantic Modeling
- Contribute to Neuroscience Ontology development and governance for semantic consistency
- Align Neuroscience Ontology with enterprise metadata standards and external frameworks
- Collaboration & Integration
- Partner with Knowledge Management, Data Product Architecture & Governance, and Master Data Management teams
- Collaborate with Neuroscience Data Science and stakeholders to maximize data asset value
- Interface with regulatory and compliance teams to meet global standards
- Team & Operating Model Leadership
- Lead a cross-functional team of product owners, data engineers, and domain experts
- Establish governance models, agile processes, and value-tracking metrics
- Value Realization & Communication
- Define and track KPIs to measure impact on insights, trial efficiency, and regulatory outcomes
- Communicate vision and value realization to leadership and stakeholders
- Champion data literacy and adoption within the Neuroscience TA
- Strategic Impact
- Transform Neuroscience data into AI-ready products that accelerate discovery and strengthen regulatory readiness
Qualifications
Education
- PhD or Masterβs in informatics, computer science, life sciences or related discipline
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in pharma/biotech R&D with data product development or data science; Neuroscience focus is a plus
- Experience in data product development, data integration, or semantic modeling
- Experience with multi-modal Neuroscience data (omics, imaging, translational, clinical, RWE)
- Knowledge of data products, database design, data transformation/mapping
- Experience with metadata management, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and standards (CDISC, GA4GH)
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills; ability to translate strategy into value
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new data capabilities
Additional Requirements
- Up to 25% travel; primary location Titusville, NJ, with options in Spring House, PA or Cambridge, MA
