Job Description
National Account Director (NAD) reporting to the Vice President of Market Access, Biologics; leads execution of market access and reimbursement strategies for current portfolio and future pipeline products across payer coverage, reimbursement, pricing, contracting, and access.
Responsibilities
- Lead account management for assigned national accounts: access/reimbursement strategy, formulary coverage, medical policy development, contracting, and relationship management.
- Build executive relationships with Medical Directors, Pharmacy Directors, and other decision-makers.
- Develop and execute customer-specific market access strategies for current and future pipeline products.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on payer strategy, product positioning, pricing, and contracting.
- Negotiate contracts optimizing reimbursement access while protecting ASP and gross-to-net.
- Lead market access strategy for buy & bill biologics/biosimilars/specialty products and future rare disease assets.
- Partner cross-functionally to drive reimbursement support, formulary access, and customer pull-through.
- Provide payer trend/competitive/reimbursement policy insight and identify emerging access barriers.
- Review/analyze product performance and communicate payer account performance internally.
- Represent the company at industry meetings (PCMA, AMCP, Asembia).
- Coordinate with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance on market access and customer engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years direct U.S. payer national account management experience at NAD/Sr. NAD level.
- Preferred: 5+ years managing biologics/medical benefit drugs; payer launch experience (biologics/biosimilars/specialty/rare disease).
- Pharma payer customer-facing experience; in-depth knowledge of manufacturer compliance, reimbursement, and access.
- Negotiation/financial acumen; strong cross-functional leadership; strong written/oral communication.
- Experience with HUB/co-pay/patient services providers.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
