Position Summary
The Director - Molecular Science Liaisons will establish and lead a team of Molecular Science Liaisons (MSLs). MSLs communicate the value of Caris Molecular Intelligence (CMI) to external clients (physicians, scientists, and others), primarily through face-to-face discussions, including with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in oncology.
Job Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the MSL team
- Provide recommendations on national staffing plans
- Create and coordinate training and enablement plans to keep MSLs up to date on company technology
- Track MSL activity and customer interactions
- Ensure MSLs can:
- Serve as a conduit between the medical community and Caris Life Sciences regarding products and medical community needs to enhance patient care, research, clinical trials, and therapeutic approaches
- Conduct medical/scientific education to support field organization and increase market presence
- Present clinical data and educational materials to physician sites and/or conferences (regional or national)
- Attend POA/commercial pitch and other onsite relationship meetings
- Promote CMI to physician sites across the U.S.
- Support/present at molecular tumor board meetings
- Read/understand scientific and technical literature for customer engagement
- Assist with related duties and special projects
- Assist in training contracted speakers (Caris Speakerβs Bureau) and function as a field trainer
- Participate in regional/national speaking engagements and select tradeshows/sales meetings
- Provide commercial input/review of marketing materials
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.D. in a biological science related to pharmacology, cancer biology, or molecular/cellular biology (or equivalent training/experience)
- 3+ years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Experience in a commercial environment (pharma or commercial lab)
- Field experience with customers and/or sales organization
- Creative problem-solving and new idea initiation
- Independence and sound business judgment
- Self-motivation and drive; strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, competing-deadline environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business internet use
- Drive for results (service, quality, continuous improvement)
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Teamwork and customer service focus
