Role: US Field-based Medical Affairs (Medical Science Liaison, MSL) – Women’s Health
Responsibilities:
- Draft, execute, monitor & adapt independent US MSL Stakeholder Engagement Plans for target KOLs/HCPs in alignment with the US Women’s Health MSL Team Lead and US Women’s Health Medical Lead.
- Receive support/direction for asset-/disease state-level MSL business activities, including travel, HCP interactions, and congress attendance.
- Provide monthly written summaries of day-to-day activities and achievements.
- Submit expense reports and PTO/vacation requests timely; document HCP interactions in VEEVA.
- Provide reactive medical communications to unsolicited medical requests (UMRs).
- Identify and communicate internally rival Medical Affairs activities with target KOLs/HCPs.
- Identify and communicate unmet medical education needs; share difficult concepts and negotiate for alternative perspectives.
- Partner to develop independent, nonpromotional, proactive/reactive medical education materials (e.g., slide decks, videos).
- Gather and communicate KOL insights to inform independent US Medical and/or overarching strategy.
- Develop and communicate independent Ad Board, Congress & Customer Insight Reports.
- Staff independent Medical Affairs booths at congresses/conventions.
- Provide training to internal Viatris functions on products/disease states using approved materials at Commercial request.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech/clinical industry; MD/PhD/PharmD required; OB/GYN experience required (or equivalent combination of experience/education).
- Knowledge of US MSL roles/responsibilities, clinical trials, therapeutic areas, SOPs, Standards for Interactions with US Healthcare Providers, federal/state promotional laws, PhRMA Code, ACCME Standards, and Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
- Ability to communicate and build collaborative relationships with KOLs, medical professionals, academic institutions, and Patient Advocacy Groups; strong analytics and organizational skills.
- Ability to listen for stakeholder insights and draw implications for Viatris.
- Personal accountability; goal-setting and high performance.
- Motivation to overcome challenges; comfort with change; DEI principles.
- Preferred: residence within or near designated territory regions.
- US Remote; extensive travel 50%–80% (may change), including overnight/weekend; remote participation.
- Proficiency in English.
Salary range: $112,000 - $236,000.
