Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a 6-person MSL team as a βplayer-coach,β providing leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operational management.
- Serve as primary MSL for a designated territory (geography TBD), engaging KOLs/HCPs to stay current with science and market dynamics.
- Develop and implement scientific interaction plans for Plastics & Regenerative Medicine (on-market and pipeline), supporting the product lifecycle and analyzing clinical/market trends.
- Ensure robust stakeholder engagement aligned to Brand strategy/medical objectives; coordinate MSL activities with other in-field teams.
- Coach and provide feedback to MSLs on engagement planning, scientific quality/storytelling, clinical study engagement, medical information requests, data capture/reporting, and Challenger interactions.
- Participate in Brand Team meetings; bring MSL metrics/data points and ensure appropriate use of technology (CRM, virtual tools, P2P).
- Manage team performance, recruitment/onboarding/training, and field readiness (including OR certification management).
- Provide internal scientific support/training (e.g., sales training).
- Manage administrative/financial duties for the team (e.g., expense approvals, logistics, vendor contracting) and conduct field co-rides and 1:1s.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in health sciences/clinical discipline required; preferred doctorate (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD).
- 5+ years clinical/scientific/research/pharma experience; at least 2 years as an MSL.
- Strong medical affairs/pharma knowledge; line management experience preferred; player-coach/working manager advantage.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills (local language and English preferred); cross-functional collaboration; ability to manage challenging personnel issues.
- Ability to travel ~50β60%.
- OR/surgical suite and credentialing/OR certification experience strongly preferred; demonstrated operational/administrative management capability.
