Medical Affairs
Director, Medical Information (initial focus: U.S. launch readiness)
Responsibilities:
- Build and scale the Medical Information function (strategy, operating model, roadmap) with a foundation for future global expansion.
- Oversee Medical Information content development, approval, maintenance, and deployment (e.g., standard response letters, FAQs, scripted responses, templates, unsolicited responses, AMCP dossiers, payer-facing resources).
- Select and manage vendors/contact center partners (training, objectives, KPIs, quality monitoring, corrective actions, budget tracking, continuous improvement).
- Ensure responses are scientifically accurate, balanced, evidence-based, and compliant with regulations/SOPs/industry standards.
- Participate in MLR review processes and other cross-functional reviews.
- Monitor inquiry trends/metrics to identify unmet content needs and generate actionable insights for Medical Affairs.
- Support scientific conferences and medical congresses (content preparation, inquiry management, insight gathering, scientific exchange).
- Partner cross-functionally to support compliant scientific exchange, launch readiness, operational excellence, and appropriate escalation of inquiries, adverse events, and product quality complaints.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific/clinical degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD).
- 5+ years in biotech/pharma with substantial Medical Information/Medical Affairs experience.
- Direct leadership of Medical Information strategy, content, inquiry management, vendor oversight, systems, quality monitoring, reporting, and launch planning.
- Strong regulatory/compliance/pharmacovigilance/product complaint knowledge.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to deliver tailored, balanced evidence-based responses.
- Cross-functional leadership and project management; influence without authority.
- Experience with Medical Information metrics/KPIs and actionable insights.
- Proficiency with Medical Information systems (e.g., Veeva Vault/CRM), Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred:
- Launch readiness/lifecycle management experience; evolution of Medical Information capabilities.
- Rare disease/endocrinology/metabolic disease/neurology experience.
- People leadership (recruit, develop, coach, lead teams/vendors/partners).
Work Location:
- Remote in the U.S.; not considering AK, AZ, HI, MI, TN. Travel to Cambridge, MA several times/year.
Compensation:
- $211,000–$237,000 USD.
