Director, Global Portfolio Strategy & New Business Development (Raritan, NJ)

Purpose
- Leads global portfolio agenda shaping prioritization, governance, communication, and execution visibility across therapeutic areas, regions, and functions. Develops executive narratives for internal/external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead portfolio strategy/operations to prioritize investments, advance pipeline, and drive sustainable growth.
- Provide governance and decision support for GOC and Global Commercial Strategy leadership; ensure follow-through.
- Design and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives (e.g., Strategic Plan, GOC accelerators).
- Partner with R&D, Finance, Therapeutic Areas, Regions, and other functions on pipeline investment and resource allocation.
- Create portfolio performance/launch/lifecycle visibility and recommend actions for senior leaders.
- Conduct primary/secondary research and quantitative analysis to form fact-based perspectives.
- Define objectives, milestones, KPIs, and governance mechanisms for initiatives.
- Build stakeholder engagement plans; align leaders and translate strategy into implementation.
- Develop executive narratives for Strategic Plan, Enterprise Business Review, and leadership communications.
- Support select new business development (commercial due diligence, assessments, financial modeling, evaluation of external innovation).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s required; advanced degree preferred (MBA/MPH/PharmD/PhD).
- 7+ years in strategy consulting/corporate strategy/portfolio strategy/business development.
- Life sciences industry experience (preferably commercial/marketing/portfolio/business development).
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives end-to-end; strong analytical/problem-solving.
- Trusted advisor/influencer with senior leaders in a matrixed global environment.

Preferred
- Portfolio governance/investment prioritization/strategic planning or enterprise decision processes.
- Experience with pipelines, launches, lifecycle management, or therapeutic area strategy.
- Therapeutic area experience (oncology, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular/metabolism) preferred.
