Position Summary
Global Medical Director for Solid Tumors accountable for the integrated global medical strategy for assigned tumors/assets within Women’s Cancers & Specialty Tumors; develops and drives Global Medical Plans with cross-functional integration and serves as a strategic partner to BMS Commercialization and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global medical strategy; align with Medical Program Lead; guide global markets to inform local plans; support lifecycle management and launch readiness.
- Lead cross-functional external engagement and advocacy to champion optimal medicine use; work with thought leaders/investigators/advocacy groups to shape BMS pipeline.
- Maintain long-term peer-to-peer relationships; oversee advisory boards and congress/symposium speaking engagements.
- Collaborate with Medical Communications to deliver Global Medical Communications; provide scientific guidance for compelling narratives; represent BMS at global oncology congresses/forums.
- Provide medical support for governance/brand/access meetings and tumor/CDT and GPT discussions.
- Partner with Medical Evidence Generation to develop/refine Integrated Evidence Plans aligned to unmet need and objectives.
- Cross-collaborate with MPLs and disease area teams for overlapping tumor/asset development strategy alignment.
- Manage allocated budget/resources per business needs and corporate policies.
- Contribute to Global Medical/TA initiatives; identify innovation opportunities (e.g., AI, digital engagement, real-world evidence).
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD).
- 5–7+ years in pharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs/Medical Strategy, Clinical Research).
- Strong analytical skills; scientific data interpretation/contextualization; cross-functional leadership (clinical, commercialization, regulatory, HEOR, Access).
- Strategy development, critical thinking, decision-making; ability to implement short- and long-range plans.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; anticipates needs and manages business/organizational risks.
- Highly organized, motivated; strong people management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
