Job Description: The role serves as a key liaison across Global Medical Affairs and external stakeholders, driving project execution, process optimization, governance, and performance measurement while supporting scientific exchange, educational initiatives, society collaborations, association partnerships, and strategic engagements.
Preferred work location: Foster City, CA, or Parsippany, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives and complex cross-functional projects supporting Global Medical Affairs external engagement priorities.
- Develop and implement governance frameworks, business processes, operational standards, and best practices.
- Own systems, tools, and workflows supporting external engagement activities; drive process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Maintain centralized processes, tracking mechanisms, and reporting tools for operational oversight and portfolio management.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics; deliver executive-level reporting and recommendations.
- Support development/execution of external engagement strategies and coordinate interactions with external stakeholders.
- Manage external partnerships and collaborative initiatives; represent Medical Affairs on committees/working groups as appropriate.
- Lead continuous improvement; develop training/guidance; analyze performance data and champion data-driven decisions.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills (required/preferred)
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives; influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong project/program management (planning, prioritization, risk management, delivery of multiple initiatives).
- Experience with external collaborations, societies/associations, educational initiatives, or strategic partnerships in healthcare/life sciences.
- Business acumen; matrixed global organization experience; executive presentations/dashboards.
- Operational excellence mindset; continuous improvement; analyze/synthesize complex information.
- Communication skills; manage budgets/contracts/timelines/milestones/metrics.
- Relationship-building; organizational agility; attention to detail; Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree + 12 years OR Masterโs (MBA/MSN/MPH/equivalent) + 10 years OR Doctoral (PhD/PharmD/equivalent) + 8 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with grants/corporate sponsorships/society relations/non-profit engagement/scientific communications.
- Experience in business operations, strategic initiatives, process improvement, or technology implementation.
- Knowledge of corporate sponsorships, memberships, independent medical education, scientific grants, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience managing relationships with societies/associations/academia/continuing education providers.
- Familiarity with contract management, procurement, budget planning, vendor management.
- Experience developing/tracking KPIs and dashboards; leading organizational change.
