Job Description
The role serves as a key liaison across Global Medical Affairs and external stakeholders, driving project execution, process optimization, governance, and performance measurement while supporting scientific exchange, educational initiatives, society collaborations, association partnerships, and strategic engagements.
Preferred Work Location: Foster City, CA, or Parsippany, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives and complex cross-functional projects supporting Global Medical Affairs external engagement priorities.
- Develop and implement governance frameworks, business processes, operational standards, and best practices.
- Own systems, tools, and workflows for external engagement activities; drive process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Ethics and Compliance, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain centralized processes, tracking mechanisms, and reporting tools for oversight and portfolio management.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics; deliver executive reporting and recommendations.
- Coordinate external engagement strategy development and execution with professional societies, healthcare organizations, and academic institutions.
- Manage external partnerships/collaborations; represent Medical Affairs on working groups and committees as appropriate.
- Lead continuous improvement; develop training/guidance materials; analyze performance data and implement innovative approaches.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives; strong project/program management; business acumen.
- Experience with external collaborations/partnerships in healthcare/pharma/life sciences.
- Executive communication/presentations; operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
- Budget/contract/timeline management; relationship building; Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams); domestic/international travel as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorโs + 12 years OR Masterโs (MBA/MSN/MPH/equivalent) + 10 years OR Doctoral (PhD/PharmD/equivalent) + 8 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with grants/corporate sponsorships/society relations/non-profit engagement/scientific communications; process improvement/technology implementation; knowledge of sponsorship/independent medical education and compliance requirements; relationship management with societies and healthcare organizations; contract/procurement and vendor management; KPI/dashboard development; global/international program experience.
