Key Responsibilities
- Define and continuously evolve the oncology strategic alliance model; shift to long-range, portfolio-shaping collaborations aligned with BMS oncology strategy.
- Lead priority alliances; ensure alignment with oncology/hematology portfolio priorities and long-range strategy.
- Provide strategic leadership/oversight for SPARC (external thought leader) council & alliances strategy, governance, communications, and engagements that inform portfolio decisions.
- Lead strategic engagement with priority academic partners; develop joint data-generation roadmaps and co-develop proposals.
- Integrate alliance-derived insights into key oncology decision forums (portfolio prioritization, MEG, CDP, GPT) to influence asset strategy, prioritization, and investment decisions.
- Advance organizational knowledge of key alliance partners’ capabilities.
- Serve as liaison to Professional Societies and Portfolio Strategy Leads to support key societies and congresses.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, etc.) in a scientific discipline, or equivalent education/experience.
- 7–10+ years in oncology drug development, medical strategy, portfolio strategy, or related roles; exposure to multiple tumor types/hematological malignancies and/or modalities.
- Credibility engaging senior external experts and thought leaders; translate insights into strategic recommendations.
- Strong understanding of oncology development pathways, biomarkers, and decision frameworks across early/late development.
- Ability to lead strategically, influence without authority, and drive alignment in matrixed global organizations.
- Cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments; manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in digital tools, emerging technologies, and AI.
- HQ-based; travel ~20%.
