Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary compensation business partner to Global Commercial, partnering with Commercial leaders, HR Business Partners, and Finance on compensation programs, pay decisions, talent investments, and market competitiveness.
- Conduct market analyses, benchmarking, and compensation modeling for hiring, retention, organizational design, and workforce planning.
- Evaluate compensation and sales incentive program effectiveness; recommend enhancements aligned to business outcomes.
- Design and implement data-driven compensation programs by assessing market practices, trends, regulatory requirements, and costs to maintain competitive total rewards.
- Provide consultative thought leadership on compensation matters including salary management, sales incentive design, total rewards philosophy, programs, policies, and job architecture.
- Partner with Commercial Operations on sales incentive plan design, performance measures, quota methodologies, payout governance, contests, and incentive effectiveness.
- Enhance and evolve compensation programs by lifecycle stage and educate employees across global locations.
- Develop executive-ready analyses and recommendations.
- Lead complex global compensation projects from conception through implementation (plans, timelines, stakeholder management, governance, communications, change management).
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant strategic/operational compensation experience; ability to assess and evolve compensation and sales incentive plans in a growth-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to advise, challenge, and influence at all organizational levels.
- Experience supporting commercial organizations with compensation and incentive program design/evaluation/consultation (including sales incentives).
- Strong understanding of commercial compensation (sales incentive principles, pay-for-performance, governance, quota-based structures, market competitiveness).
- Highly analytical; able to evaluate complex data and recommend solutions.
- Preferred: global compensation program experience across geographies.
- Preferred: working knowledge of equity compensation within total rewards.
- Strongly preferred: commercial experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or related life sciences.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and attention to detail; credibility with senior leaders.
- Team player; collaboration across HR.
- Advanced MS Excel.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
