OBJECTIVE
The Director, US Field Medical Readiness & Enablement will serve as a key member of the US Field Medical leadership team, driving US Field Medical success and ensuring high standards of scientific engagement and medical impact with healthcare professionals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Onboarding/Training/Development
- Develop and implement departmental standards/processes for onboarding, training, and competency assessment.
- Design and deliver core skills and competencies training programs.
- In collaboration with HR, design and deliver skills/competencies training for US Field Medical people leaders (coaching, executive presence, influence, working in matrix).
Innovation
- Monitor external innovation trends via industry associations/meetings.
- Conduct external benchmarking and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop/oversee launch excellence framework and product launch readiness/execution processes.
- Develop/oversee research support framework and processes for compliant contribution to Takeda-sponsored research.
Operations/Digital Tools and Internal Communications
- Oversee KOL/HCP engagement monitoring framework (in collaboration with Legal/Ethics & Compliance).
- Oversee annual external engagement planning/approval process (tactical and territory plans).
- Support development/implementation of SOPs and guidance.
- Optimize adoption of data analytics and digital tools/systems (including AI).
- Advance field medical insights capture/translation/internal communication.
- Communicate CRM enhancement needs and collaborate on implementation.
- Maintain department communications plan and reporting templates/dashboards.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Required: Masterβs degree in health sciences (minimum). Doctoral degree preferred.
- At least 5 yearsβ pharmaceutical industry experience; Medical Affairs and Field Medical strongly preferred.
- Strategic/analytical thinking; innovation; project leadership; change implementation.
- Collaboration/influencing in a matrix; ability to manage/lead/mentor.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organization; executive presence.
- Proficiency with technology/analytics; digital tools including AI.
- Experience designing/implementing skills/competencies training programs.
- Experience managing vendors.
- Understanding of compliance/ethical/legal/regulatory guidelines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Drive/fly to meetings; travel up to 40% (including some overnight/weekends).
