OBJECTIVE:
The Director, US Field Medical Readiness & Enablement is a key member of the US Field Medical leadership team, driving departmental success by ensuring high standards of scientific engagement and medical impact with healthcare professionals, elevating capabilities through department-wide programs/initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence aligned to US Medical strategies.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and implement US Field Medical onboarding, training, and competency assessment standards and processes.
- Design and deliver core skills/competencies training; develop people-leader training in partnership with HR (e.g., coaching, executive presence, influence, matrix leadership).
- Identify innovation opportunities through industry associations/meetings; conduct external benchmarking and drive improvement.
- Oversee launch excellence framework/processes for product launch readiness and execution.
- Oversee research support framework/processes for effective, compliant Takeda-sponsored research contributions.
- Oversee KOL/HCP engagement monitoring framework/process with Legal and Ethics & Compliance.
- Oversee annual external engagement planning/approval (team tactical plans, individual territory plans).
- Support development/implementation of SOPs and guidance.
- Optimize adoption of data analytics and digital tools (including AI) for planning, execution, and reporting; advance insights capture/translation/communication.
- Communicate CRM enhancement needs and collaborate on implementation; maintain communications plan and reporting templates/dashboards for activity, impact, and outcomes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Masterβs degree in health sciences (minimum); doctoral degree preferred.
- 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry; Medical Affairs and Field Medical experience strongly preferred.
- Strategic/analytical thinking; innovation; project leadership; change implementation.
- Teamwork and matrix influencing; lead/mentor individuals or teams.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organization; executive presence.
- Technology/analytics proficiency; digital tools/AI.
- Experience designing/implementing skills and competencies training; managing vendors.
- Understanding of compliance, ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Up to 40% travel (driving/flying; some overnight/weekend).
