Overview:
The Director, Field Medical Affairs is a national leadership role responsible for defining and executing the Field Medical strategy for the community segment, aligned to US Medical Affairs and enterprise priorities. Leads a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and translates strategy into disciplined execution, measurable outcomes, and sustained scientific impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a national team of MSLs; foster a high-performance culture.
- Define and execute Field Medical strategy for the community segment.
- Translate strategy into field medical plans, execution frameworks, and measurable outcomes across regions.
- Establish and drive KPIs and performance metrics; enable data-driven decisions.
- Ensure compliant, high-quality execution of field medical activities.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and leadership development for MSL effectiveness.
- Represent the Field Medical voice in cross-functional forums; influence senior stakeholders.
- Shape cross-functional strategies using field insights and scientific perspectives.
- Ensure cross-functional engagement/planning follows compliance and Medical Affairs governance.
- Serve as liaison across Medical Affairs and partners; remove barriers and coordinate execution.
- Lead national account planning and field deployment strategies.
- Oversee budget planning and resource allocation aligned to priorities.

Core Requirements:
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO)
- 12+ years of Medical Affairs experience, including field medical leadership
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing MSL teams at scale
- Executive presence; influence senior stakeholders
- Track record of strategy development, execution, and cross-functional leadership
- Experience with KPI-driven performance management and coaching
- Experience in cardiology, rare disease, or specialty biopharma preferred
- Willingness to travel (~50–60%)
