Job Purpose
- Provide scientific and strategic leadership to develop and execute real-world evidence strategies to inform drug development across all phases. Work across the matrix with Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Safety to develop and implement epidemiologic studies and measurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the epidemiology program for at least one asset or disease area: propose and negotiate program content and budget; develop a Global Epidemiology Plan; may lead cross-functional teams.
- Liaise with stakeholders (Clinical, Safety, Regulatory, etc.) to understand and bridge evidence gaps and translate them into epidemiology program strategy.
- Provide expert epidemiological insights to asset matrix teams (e.g., Clinical Development Team, Safety Review Team, Medicine/Vaccines Development Team).
- Lead and oversee complex epidemiological studies and negotiate new partnerships.
- Identify and build new opportunities, methods, and external partnerships.
- Lead departmental initiatives to create/evaluate tools, methodologies, or processes.
- Manage and mentor junior staff and research assistants.
- Represent GSK in scientific interactions with governance bodies, external regulators, and at international conferences.
- Plan and coordinate scientific dissemination (regulatory documents, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations).
- Partner with external groups conducting epidemiological studies globally and manage collaborations.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (PhD/ScD/DrPH) in epidemiology (preferred) or relevant discipline.
- 5+ years epidemiology experience.
- 3+ years experience in drug and clinical development process.
- 3+ years experience with real-world databases (e.g., claims, EHRs, national registers).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of regulations for applying epidemiology to clinical development and safety.
- Matrix experience delivering complex epidemiological studies with regulatory requirements.
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders with scientifically robust approaches.
- Strong planning/organization to manage multiple priorities in global matrix environment.
- Self-motivated independent work and strong multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Problem-solving in applying epidemiological principles to complex situations.
- Experience designing primary data collection studies.
- Experience in hepatology, obesity, or cardiometabolic disease.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Expertise applying epidemiology methods/study design (e.g., post-approval studies).
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or external collaborations.
- Demonstrates GSK culture, behaviors, and enterprise-thinking.
