Position Summary
- Oversee a segment of spend for J&J Innovative Medicine (IM) Supply Chain, focusing on selected external manufacturing suppliers for Biotherapeutics and/or Synthetics platforms.
- Lead a team of sourcing professionals to develop and maintain key supplier relationships; refresh and execute category strategy aligned to J&J IM objectives.
- Collaborate with IM External Manufacturing (EM) Operations and cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and other teams) to meet capacity, innovation, financial performance, quality, compliance, and service goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category plans; drive sourcing strategy, negotiations, contract implementation, and performance against targets.
- Manage supplier relationships; monitor contract negotiations; execute joint collaborative initiatives.
- Build category strategies using industry/market expertise; engage business partners to ensure supply continuity and manage risks.
- Use data/analytics to inform decisions; deliver cost-effective solutions for existing and new product lines.
- Champion sustainable procurement and supplier diversity.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve supply chain-impacting issues; cultivate a high-performance team culture; lead and mentor.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; MSc/MBA preferred.
- 10+ years relevant experience in Procurement and Supply Chain.
- People management experience required.
- Strong contracting knowledge; understanding of regulatory/legal/compliance/commercial elements.
- Excellent communication; ability to prioritize, influence, and drive continuous improvement.
