Position Summary
The Director, Commercial Strategy & New Product Planning will lead and support strategic and operational initiatives across the portfolio. The role shapes commercialization strategy for canvuparatide and helps define the future direction of the obesity and metabolic disease pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Portfolio Planning:
- Help define long-term commercial strategy across the portfolio
- Evaluate market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and evolving standards of care
- Support portfolio prioritization and investment decisions
- Develop commercial assessments for new indications, lifecycle opportunities, and business development initiatives
- Partner closely with R&D and clinical teams to incorporate commercial considerations into development plans

Launch Preparation & Commercial Readiness:
- Support launch planning and commercialization activities for canvuparatide
- Identify market opportunities, adoption barriers, and launch risks
- Develop launch assumptions and readiness plans across key functional areas
- Help establish foundational commercial capabilities and processes

Market Insights & Customer Understanding:
- Lead market research with physicians, patients, payers, and other stakeholders
- Translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations
- Monitor competitive developments and emerging market trends
- Develop deep understanding of customer needs, treatment journeys, and market dynamics

Product Strategy & Positioning:
- Support product positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks
- Contribute to brand strategy and commercialization planning
- Develop and refine Target Product Profiles (TPPs) and commercial product profiles
- Assess differentiation and competitive positioning

Forecasting & Analytics:
- Support demand forecasts and commercial models
- Evaluate market sizing, patient flow, and adoption assumptions
- Develop analyses to inform investment decisions and resource allocation
- Prepare presentations and recommendations for executive leadership and Board discussions

Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Finance, Investor Relations, and Business Development
- Lead cross-functional projects and strategic workstreams
- Manage external agencies, consultants, and research partners as needed
- Serve as a key commercial representative on cross-functional teams

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD, or related field)
- 8+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare consulting, or related fields
- Experience in commercial strategy, marketing, new product planning, forecasting, market research, analytics, or consulting
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Travel & Location
- Travel periodically based on business needs
- Expected to be on-site an average of three days per week, unless otherwise requested.
