Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evolve channel distribution strategies across the organization’s North America portfolio.
- Lead strategic planning considering country-specific regulations and policies, program sustainability, strategic alliances, and patient/customer access.
- Inform distribution service agreement design to maximize access and distribution efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on evolving supply chain and distribution-related laws, channel models, and channel partner business models/capabilities across the US and Canada.
- Maintain deep understanding of Hospital, Specialty & Retail pharmacy channels to ensure leading patient support in specialty channels.
- Lead a team to design scalable, innovative distribution strategies balancing financial impact, patient/customer experience, and strategic alliances.
- Support recommendations with analytics considering channel economics, active/pending policy (e.g., serialization, importation, pricing policy), reimbursement, setting of care, financial implications, and patient access dynamics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop channel distribution strategy and deliver recommendations to Senior Leadership and internal governing bodies.
- Partner with Trade and functional business partners on distribution capabilities, market expertise, and differentiation.
- Partner with pipeline/inline strategy and Trade teams to generate insights for commercialization planning (forecasting, gross-to-net, operational build).
- Identify and define evolution of distribution programs for new launches, risk mitigation, market changes, competition, portfolio/regulatory needs.
- Exercise sound judgment to ensure integrity and compliance; promote collaboration and enterprise thinking.
Knowledge and Skills
- Expert knowledge of drug distribution channels including cell and gene therapy, specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy, and retail.
- Previous strategic leadership experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare.
- Track record of meeting/exceeding objectives individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives/projects internally and with external consultants.
- Relevant experience with distribution networks, new product launches, trade processes, and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Demonstrated understanding of US commercial and government healthcare and reimbursement environment (product/fund flow, patient support, government programs).
- Excellent communication skills; experience presenting to customers and internal leadership.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and succeed in a matrixed environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills with solid understanding of trade channel data.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of industry experience in commercial market access, trade, and distribution.
- Prior channel distribution experience with cell and gene therapy, rare disease, and small molecule.
Location
- HQ or Hybrid Schedule (3 days/week in HQ).
- Travel up to 20%.
