Director, Channel Distribution Strategy
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert on evolving supply chain/distribution laws, channel models, and channel partner business models across the US and Canada.
- Maintain deep understanding of Hospital, Specialty & Retail pharmacy channels to ensure industry-leading patient support.
- Lead a team designing scalable, innovative distribution strategies to maximize patient access and meet corporate goals.
- Provide recommendations supported by analytics, including channel economics, active/pending policy (e.g., serialization, importation, state/federal pricing), reimbursement, setting of care, financial implications, and patient access dynamics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders; deliver recommendations to senior leadership and internal governing bodies.
- Partner with Trade and functional business partners; support understanding of distribution capabilities and differentiation.
- Partner with pipeline/inline strategy teams and Trade to generate insights for commercialization planning (forecasting, gross-to-net, operational build).
- Define evolution of distribution programs for new launches, risk mitigation, market/competitive changes, portfolio needs, and regulatory/legislative changes.
Knowledge & Skills
- Expert knowledge of drug distribution channels including cell/gene therapy, specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy, and retail.
- Strategic leadership experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare.
- Proven record meeting objectives; ability to develop/lead strategic initiatives.
- Experience with distribution networks, new product launches, trade processes, and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Demonstrated understanding of US commercial/government healthcare and reimbursement.
- Strong communication; cross-functional influence in matrixed environments.
- Excellent analytical skills with trade channel data.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorโs degree (Masterโs preferred).
- 10+ years in commercial market access, trade, and distribution.
- Channel distribution experience with cell/gene therapy, rare disease, and small molecule.
Location & Travel
- HQ or hybrid (3 days/week in HQ); travel up to 20%.
